SEP 10 EVENTS: Biennial Scientific Meeting in Optometry (SEMO)

The School of Optometry and Vision Science at UNSW would like to invite you to attend the upcoming Biennial Scientific and Educators’ Meeting in Optometry (SEMO), which for 2010 will be held in Sydney.
The meeting will be held over three days, from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th September 2010. SEMO 2010 highlights will include a keynote lecture and panel discussion on the role of peripheral refraction in the development of Myopia and a boat cruise to take in the sights of Sydney Harbour.

The World Sight Day Challenge begins in a few weeks time, at the beginning of October, so register today and help transform lives through the gift of vision. You can donate your eye exam fees from World Sight Day - Oct. 14 (or any other day in October), or make a personal or practice donation and/or hold a practice celebration and invite patient donations throughout October. Optometry Giving Sight will provide a free practice kit that contains everything you need to communicate your involvement to your patients, including posters, a counter card and ideas for practice celebrations.

SEP 10 EVENTS: Optometry Giving Sight Moss Vale Golf Day

The Annual Moss Vale Golf Day will take place on Friday 15th October. For just $85 you can enjoy a round at one of Australia’s championship courses; breakfast on arrival; a showbag; sumptuous two course evening meal and an award presentation. Registration begins at 8.30am for a 10am Shotgun start. Both handicap and non-handicap golfers are welcome. Individuals or groups (up to 4 players) can register for the Individual Stableford Event. Proceeds from the day benefit Optometry Giving Sight.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead’s iconic Teddy Bears’ Picnic fundraising event. The Teddy Bears’ Picnic just keeps getting bigger and better as more and more families pack their teddy bears and picnic blankets every year and continue to raise vital funds for the life-saving work of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
